While Call of Duty has made its way to the Nintendo Wii before, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex will finally take the Wii out of World War II.

Call of Duty 4 for Wii

mwcover That title sums up everything you really need to know. With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex, Infinity Ward's beloved shooter is finally making its way to the Nintendo Wii console. Those who still cry out that the Nintendo Wii isn't suited for hardcore gamers may have to rethink their argument. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex contains everything that made the game great, as well as exclusive new content and significant improvements over the existing versions.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Online Experience Intact

callofduty1 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has an online following that has, at times, rivaled even the mighty Halo franchise. So Nintendo Wii fans should be excited to hear that Call of Duty 4 for Wii will include all of the online features that are so popular in the other versions of the game and feature up to ten players in an online match. The entire leveling system is intact, as well as all of the perks and awards that come along with it.

For those not familiar with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, playing online gets you experience points - the better you perform, the more you earn - that level up your character. Leveling up will not only unlock better weapons, but you'll earn better perks, which grant you different abilities. If you've ever wondered why Call of Duty 4 is so popular, it's because of the expertly done multiplayer.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex will also feature host migration for its online play, which is something the other versions were lacking and in dire need of. What host migration means is that if the player currently hosting the game leaves, then hosting duties will simply "migrate" to another player and the game will continue. Without host migration, when the host decides to leave, the game ends for everybody.

Customizable Controls for Call of Duty 4 for Wii

The controls for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex will be fully customizable, which is something that more videogames need. This is especially important when dealing with a first person shooter on the Nintendo Wii, as the controls are often a subject of much debate. With fully customizable controls, you can choose the exact control scheme that you want and even use the Wii Zapper.

Playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex With a Friend

callofduty2 A new feature that's included with the Nintendo Wii version of the game is the ability to play cooperatively. There isn't a whole new campaign or anything like that, but at any time during the single player campaign, a friend can pick up a second Wii Remote and join in. The first player will still control the character's movement, but the second player will be able to help mow down enemies.

No Wii Speak for Call of Duty 4 for Wii

reflex The online multiplayer for the Wii version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will support up to ten players, which is two more players than the previous Call of Duty: World at War could support. Unfortunately, this comes at a price, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex will not support Wii Speak. Wii Speak is a device that allows for voice chat while playing with other players online. As an avid online gamer, I can attest to how important voice chat is, especially when you're playing a first person shooter. As promising as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex looks, this is a serious detractor for hardcore gamers.

No Wii Speak aside, Call of Duty 4 for Wii is shaping up to be a fantastic Nintendo Wii experience, much unlike many of the poor ports the system has received over the years. While it may not use the Wii MotionPlus, it should be a great shooter nonetheless and quite possibly one of the best Wii games.
